KDDI announces Android-based INFOBAR A01 smartphone with glanceable iida UI and it runs Android 2.3, but you wouldn’t know it from the interface: a completely custom UI designed by Yugo Nakamura that follows some similar glanceable design principles to Windows Phone 7. It features a 3.7-inch qHD display, an 8 megapixel camera, a 1Seg TV tuner, and dual-mode GSM / CDMA connectivity and available in your choice of four different color schemes, no less, along with some optional silicone and leather cases designed to match the phone………
KDDI has introduced the Infobar A01, the first smart phone in the Infobar series to run Android 2.3 OS and the interface to the Android OS is tiles rather than buttons. Packaged under KDDI’s iida brand and manufactured by Sharp. Eight years have passed since the release of the first-generation INFOBAR. With Naoto Fukasawa once again at the design helm, the DNA from that first generation shows in the new smartphone’s signature tile-like keys, hand-fitting form and palette of colors including the vermillion NISHIKIGOI. Personal customization lets INFOBAR reveal a range of expressions through. INFOBAR offers a new user interface that makes operation itself a joy. INFOBAR is equipped with Android 2.3. This smartphone fits in the hand, yet offers Osaifu-Keitai, infrared communication, and 1seg TV. With Global Passport, overseas use is also possible.
