A new report just issued by BTIG Research says Verizon Wireless has the fastest 4G phone network.
In a wide-ranging survey, the technology research company compared download speeds of the HTC EVO 4G for Sprint against download speeds for the HTC Thunderbolt for Verizon. Over more than 1000 tests the firm found the Verizon 4G network was significantly and consistently faster than Sprint 4G.
Verizon’s network averaged a download speed of around 9 Mbps and an upload average of 5 Mbps, while Sprint only managed around 1 Mbps for both download and upload speeds. Just to rub salt into the wound a little bit further, the research firm also said it found Verizon’s 4G network was more reliable and had better coverage.
But wait, there’s more. BTIG also found the battery life of the Thunderbolt much better than the EVO 4G. Ouch.
