NTT DoCoMo has offered up the official launch date for the tablet within Japan and will start to offer the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet on March 31 in some of their retail channels.Previously LG and NTT DOCOMO had announced a release date of March 15th for the Optimus Pad in Japan.Over here in the US the exclusive carrier for a tablet identical to the one launching on the 31st in Japan is T-Mobile and the LG G-Slate. T-Mobile like NTT DOCOMO announced a March release date but recent rumors have shown the real launch could come in April 20th for the G-Slate on the T-mobile 4G network.At this time the Optimus Pad/G-Slate is set to feature a 8.9-inch HD (1280×768) capacitive touchscreen with 3D stereoscopic technology (3D glasses need to view 3D content). The tablet is also going to feature a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor, dual rear facing cameras for 3D video recording and one 5MP rear facing camera for Full HD video recording as well as a 3MP front facing camera for video calling.The LG G-Slate tablet in the US will be launched with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G HSPA+ connectivity.
